Should you try to time the market?

Last week alone, 64,000 homeowners listed their homes (Source: Altos Research), and a record-percent of Americans are looking to buy this year, the highest level since the survey started in 2020. (Source: Nerdwallet).
And as helpful as it is to know that, no—the market isn’t frozen, yes, people are buying and selling real estate every single day…that data doesn’t really help you answer this:
Is 2025 the best time to sell MY house? Is 2025 the best time for ME to buy?
The truth is—you’ll never be able to time the market.
You can’t perfectly time the market, but you can make the best decision based on your situation: Can I comfortably cover my mortgage? Do I have enough equity for moving costs? Am I ready for the stress of moving? Do my long-term goals support a change? Is there a clear plan for my next home?
Forget the headlines and Reddit threads or community Facebook pages—your real estate decisions should be based on your life, your goals, and your future.
