Buyers Have More Power Today

🏡 I know not everyone will agree, but this could be a great time to buy a home.
Not because homes are suddenly cheap. But because buyers may have something they haven't had much of in recent years: more negotiating power.
Remember when buyers were waiving inspections, offering over asking, and competing against multiple offers just to get the keys? 🔑
The pressure to win sometimes meant making compromises. In fact, Zillow reported that 75% of recent buyers surveyed in 2022 had at least one regret.
Today, depending on the property and local market, buyers may have more room to negotiate on:
âś… Purchase price
âś… Repairs and credits
âś… Closing costs
âś… Seller concessions that may help reduce upfront expenses or mortgage costs
Here's the strategy I want buyers to remember: Don't negotiate only on price. Negotiate the total cost of the deal.
A home with a slightly higher purchase price but meaningful seller concessions could make more financial sense than a lower-priced home with no flexibility.
The goal isn't just to get a home for less. It's to make a smart purchase that works for your budget long after closing.
As a local realtor serving San Ramon, Danville, and the Greater Bay Area, I help buyers look beyond the asking price, understand their options, and negotiate strategically based on the property and current market conditions.
🔑 Thinking about buying a home? Send me a DM, and let's discuss where you may have negotiating power in today's market.
The best deal isn't always the lowest price. It's the one that makes the most sense for you.
